Wild Dogs in Palembang Killed for The Sake of SEA Games Success

PALEMBANG, (dahliapost.blogspot.com) - For the sake of hosting 26th Sea Games successfully in Palembang, South Sumatra Livestock Service set a program to get rid of wild dogs roaming around Jakabaring, Palembang. The extermination using deadly poisons will be started on Saturday night.

Chief of South Sumatra Livestock Service Asrillazi Rasyid stated the program will be proceeded as the wild dogs are considered potential to bite spectators mainly thousands of foreigners expected to swarm to venues of Sea Games around Jakabaring.

"We'll use food poisoned to conduct the extermination," said Asrillazi Rasyid in Palembang, South Sumatera, Tuesday.

Dogs roaming around streets at night will be subject of it. Dog owners were asked to keep their pets at night and circular letters of South Sumatra Livestock Service on it have already been distributed to residents around Jakabaring.

According to Asrillazi, the extermination will be upheld until the sporting event comes to an end. His service has periodically exterminated wild dogs to suppress the spread of rabies.

Dozens up to hundreds of wild dogs roam around streets in Palembang to look for food at night.
