Prosecutor's transparency in USU graft questioned

MEDAN - Provincial Prosecutor's Office's uncertainty in University of Sumatera Utara (USU) graft allegation brings into public question, a law practitioner said.

"North Sumatra Prosecutor should be transparent in order to avoid speculation. As we know, many of USU alumnae employed at the law uphold body," city's law aid institute or LBH Director Nuriyono.

According to him, the Prosecutor must be transparent to handle the graft. "If the Prosecutor fail to be professional, tension could be eased by handing over this case into Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK)," Nuriyono said.

USU is under pressure in which the university suspected embezzling medical devices procurement. The budget is allocated by North Sumatra government.
