PSMS Chairman resignation draws criticism

MEDAN, NORTH SUMATRA - Medan Vice Mayor Dzulmi Eldin's resignation from Ti-phone League's PSMS football club draw protests. Dzulmi is criticized being irresponsible for sudden decision leaving the general chairman post.

"The resignation should be announced in a conference or meeting among 40 official members," Rafriandi Nasution, a football figure from North Sumatra, said here on Monday.

The club's ex-Coach Parlin Siagian said Dzulmi's walk-out has strengthened rumor that Mayor Rahudman would seat the chair.

"I have no idea about Rahudman's experience in football club management. He deserves to have the chance," Parlin said.

However, he admitted, the condition is not proper amid PSMS's efforts to secure promotion into Indonesia Super League (LSI).

Dzulmi reasoned to give up the post so he concentrate to carry out his task as the Vice Mayor.

"Later, there will be a meeting attended by 40 members to stage a chairman election," said he.

The Secretary Idris temporarily holds Chairman of PSMS.
