JAKARTA - The President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono stays calm amid pressure pushed by a number of non-governmental organization in connection with new building project for the House of Representatives.
President's Spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha said has yet received the subpoena letter from a court. "Therefore, I won't comment the issue. Just ask that to the House," he told newsmen here on Monday.
Earlier, some NGOs plans to file lawsuit against the President Yudhoyono. The NGOs includes Indonesian Forum for Budget Transparency (FITRA); Indonesia Human Right Committee for Social Justice; the Woman and small-scale Entrepreneur Participatory organization and the Publish What You Pay.
Besides, they are also to subpoena the House of Representatives' plan to build a new office building costing more than Rp 1 trillion (US$115 million).
In addition to these NGOs, Petisi 28 also plans to protest the construction of the new building, saying it is a waste of state funds.
“We will gather to fight all forms of fund wasting,” Petisi 28 coordinator Gigih said as reported by tribunnews.com.
